وكذلك دفعت الثورة المصرية بالرئيس محمد حسني مبارك الذي حكم البلاد أكثر من ثلاثة عقود للتخلّي عن الحكم في 11 فبراير 2011 (الموافق 8 ربيع الأول 1432 هـ)، حيث أعلن نائبه عمر سليمان في السادسة من مساء الجمعة 11 فبراير2011 م في بيان قصير عن تخلّي الرئيس عن منصبه، وأنه كلّف المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة إدارة شؤون البلاد.

اللافت في تلك الثورات والاحتجاجات الشعبية، إنها أطاحت بالعديد من الأنظمة السّياسية في المنطقة العربية، التي كان ينظر لها دائماً على أنها أنظمة بوليسية قويّة راسخة، وفي فترة وجيزة جدًّا، ولا زالت هذه الثورات مستمرّة ومتنقّلة من قطر إلى آخر.

لقد امتدّت شرارة الثورة التي حدثت في تونس إلى البحرين وسورية والسعودية والسودان ومسقط والأردن والمغرب والجزائر ولكنها لم تنفجر، ولا تزال العديدة من الدول، بحسب المحلّلين والمراقبين، مرشّحة لاستقبال هذه الظاهرة، مما يعني أن هناك جولة قادمة من الثورات في أنظمة عربية أخرى مرشّحة للانهيار والتهاوي في المستقبل.

ولم ينحصر تأثير الثورات والاحتجاجات العربية على النظم السّياسية في المنطقة، وإنما أحدثت أيضاً متغيّرات على صعيد المعادلات والحسابات السّياسية على الصعيد العالمي، كما أفرزت أحلافاً جديدة لم تكن قائمة، وأجبرت العديد من دول العالم، ومن بينها الدول العظمى، إلى إعادة النظر والحسابات في سياساتها وبرامجها وتحالفاتها الخارجية، خصوصاً المرتبطة بالمنطقة العربية.

وتعتبر الثورات والاحتجاجات العربية، بخصائصها وشعاراتها ومطالبها وأساليبها وشكلها التي برزت به، ظاهرة فريدة من نوعها، ليس على مستوى العالم العربي فحسب، وإنما على مستوى العالم كلّه، وبما أنها ظاهرة سياسية لا زالت حديثة التكوين، أي لم يمضِ على اندلاعها حتى اللحظة، إلا عقد واحد، وهي– بالمناسبة– فترة لا تعتبر طويلة وفق حسابات التاريخ وعمر الشعوب، فإنه من المرجح انفجارها في أقطار جديدة أخرى، كما أن تداعياتها المحتملة ستمتدّ إلى عقود قادمة.
